There are more than 25 million people in Australia, and each one of us consumes. Even as babies we use plenty of resources, did you know by the time we’re toddlers we consume approximately 239 litres of milk, which is then travelled almost 67,592 km. babies use close to 3,700 diapers which needs 1079 litres of crude oil, 4 and a half trees and 324 kilograms of plastics. That is just for milk and diapers for one child, imagine the resources the rest of the world requires? Everything we eat, drink, all the water we use that gets flushed down the drain, the clothes we wear, the fuel we use, and all the things we depend on; eg, microwaves, ovens, stoves, hair dryers, fans, air conditioners etc.

Focus: Human Footprint My current human footprint for driving is 1,396,000 miles throughout my entire lifetime; however this is because currently I live out rural and I need to drive to school and back home which is all up 102 kilometres each day. Compared to the average American mileage I am currently going to end up doubling it. I currently eat at least 3 eggs a week this lifetime consumption will end up being under the worlds average egg consumption. My current milk intake is 21 glasses of milk every week this smashes the U.K average of 38,320 cups of milk drank a lifetime as mine will end up being 84,903. My current soda can intake is roughly 1 a week my lifetime intake will be under the Japan average which is 5,333 and way under the U.K average of 49,717 with my average intake being 4,043 soda cans in a life time. Currently I consume atleast 2 slices of bread each day which ends up being a lifetime total of 56,758 this is way above the Japanese average of 6,560 but only half of the U.K average of 102,678 slices of bread in a lifetime. My current human footprint is high and I should try to make a less impact on the world to contribute to the healing of the world. This interactive game has helped me understand how large my human footprint may end up to be if do not try to change my ways. References: Society, N.G. (2015) Human footprint.
